Our Mission
Seedlings provides a nurturing, play-based, child-centered environment where young children are known, valued, and encouraged to grow with confidence and joy.

Teachers at Seedlings
Early childhood educators who understand how children learn
Our Seedlings teachers bring knowledge of child development, experience, warmth, and intention to their classrooms each day. They understand that young children learn best through play, relationships, exploration, and meaningful hands-on experiences.
Rather than following a one-size-fits-all curriculum, our teachers thoughtfully create environments and experiences that respond to children’s interests, abilities, and developmental needs. Through play, children are encouraged to make choices, take appropriate risks, solve problems, build relationships, and develop growing independence and confidence.
Our educators continue to grow in their own practice through professional development and by drawing upon current early childhood research and resources, including those of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

At Seedlings, we believe that nurturing children also means supporting the families who love and care for them. We strive to create a welcoming community where parents can build meaningful connections, share experiences, and feel supported throughout their parenting journey.
Through our partnership with Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church (LOPC), families have opportunities to connect with one another through social gatherings, community service, educational events, and opportunities for spiritual exploration. Together, we celebrate the joys and navigate the challenges of raising young children, fostering a sense of belonging that extends beyond the classroom.
