Kids Helping Kids
Join us in the Oak Room as we gather to create care packages to send to LOPC’s college freshmen who are studying away from home. We will have lunch, play games, and work on a service project together. This KHK event is designed for Kindergarten through 4th grade children. If you have someone who would like to participate who is older, please contact Susan Wentworth to see if they might volunteer to assist us.

Under the leadership of Choir Director Olivia Eukel, children ages 4 -12 are encouraged to participate in this joy-filled weekly program. All skill levels are welcome. More information soon for Fall 2026.
I'm interested →The Garden
The Garden is our faith formation time for children from PreK to 4th grade, which runs concurrently with the 10:00 worship service. The program uses Sparkhouse curriculum to lead kids through interactive Bible story lessons starting with the Old Testament in the fall, and the New Testament in the winter/spring. Children begin to compare what they learn to their own life, applying their faith to what happens at school, at play, and at home. We send home weekly materials so that you may also have another way to spiritually connect with your child throughout the week.

The Chancel Choir brings people together with great music from around the globe, as well as singing for concerts and special events from September through June. Participation is open to the community—you’ll find people from all backgrounds united by a shared love of singing. The Chancel Choir is comprised of talented volunteers and eight professional choral singers. We sing music in a wide variety of styles and genres, representing the very best choral literature.

The LOPCided Quilters are a dedicated group who combine mission with passion. We provide over 200 quilts per year to needy babies and children in Contra Costa County. We are a fellowship group and we enjoy fellowship and sharing creativity with one another.

We are a fellowship and volunteer crafting group of knitters and crocheters. In addition to knitting and crocheting, we collect new and gently used baby clothes and related items for the Layette Project.

A twice monthly support group for caregivers of those with dementia or progressively debilitating illnesses. Open to anyone caring for a loved one with dementia/Alzheimer's.

The LOPC Congo Mission Team supports the Education and Trauma Healing work of the Presbyterian Church in the Democratic Republic of Congo as well as being advocates for the Congolese people.
I'm interested →Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) Support Group
LOPC offers support groups for individuals who have been diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment. These small, intimate groups provide a safe, confidential space to share personal challenges along with practical strategies to navigate this season of life. LOPC offers support groups for individuals who have been diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment. An invitation to join one of our MCI support groups is extended after an individual and their spouse/significant other/caregiver attend a three-week workshop for those with a recent diagnosis of MCI or Dementia. These workshops are offered throughout the year.

Our congregation’s Stephen Ministry group is available to provide one-on- one Christian care to people in our congregation and community who are experiencing challenging transitions in their lives. Requires extensive training and on-going education. Ministers meet in Peer groups on a regular basis for support.

The Divorce Support Group will offer a safe and confidential space for people navigating separation or divorce to get useful information about the process of healing from these experiences and moving forward in a positive way. Participants will have opportunities to share personal experiences as they relate to the topic for the evening and to heighten their awareness and gain insights from these experiences in the context of a supportive group of individuals. We are not alone on this journey. The group will have a maximum of 15 members. All are welcome.

The Rossmoor Parish is composed of LOPC members living in Rossmoor. We host a "Meet and Greet" event once a year, allowing people to meet their neighbors. We try to keep people informed about things happening at the church and also about opportunities at Rossmoor where they might be able to participate.

The Explorers is a welcoming group of couples and singles, ages 60 and above. We gather monthly to enjoy the fellowship of friends, along with a variety of fun social activities and interesting excursions. We have a festive Christmas party at the Dollar Club House in Rossmoor and a lively St. Patrick’s party to start off our year. We also plan a mission project during the year. We invite you to join us for an activity and to get acquainted with our members. You may contact one of our co-leaders with any questions or information about attending an event.

Members include couples and singles, aged 50 and above. They enjoy dinners in members' homes, outdoor activities and other special events. Each members takes a turn hosting or co-hosting one event per year. The Ship likes to have fun and support church and community service.

Thursday Fellowship offers a caring social network for Seniors. Volunteers provide a morning craft, prepare and serve a lunch of salad, dessert and beverage and secure entertainment for the afternoon program.

The First Friday Forum speaker series provides lectures of importance and interest to the entire community about this ever-changing world sponsored by Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church. Attend the programs that interest you with no registration, subscription, or entry fee. The FFF Team is working hard to identify speakers for 2027. The FFF Calendar will be posted here in late fall. Programs for 2027 are scheduled at 1:30 p.m. for six Fridays: January 8, February 5, March 5, April 2, May 7, and June 4. Participate live on the Lafayette campus or online via streaming. Arrive at 1 p.m. to enjoy refreshments and conversation in the Oak Room before the talk.

Offered on the first Friday of the month, Friday Fun Night is for children, ages 5-22. This is an opportunity for parents to drop off all the children in your family for a fun-filled evening of arts and crafts, movies, recreational play and games, and fellowship. We strive to have a one-on-one buddy for each child. Advance registration is required.

From September through April, Friendship Circle is for youth with special needs who are freshman in high school through young adult transition programs (9th grade through 22 years old). This is an evening of fellowship with art and crafts, games, a pizza snack, and other social activities. We also have buddies from local high schools and colleges joining us. We ask a parent, guardian, or caregiver to join their youth the first time that they attend Friendship Circle to help them navigate this social setting. If your youth has an aide during their school day, we ask that a parent, guardian or caregiver join them at all of the Friendship Circle gatherings.

Our book for this year is Jesus for Everyone, by Philip Yancy + Study Guide (ISBN 978-0-310-21805-0). We chose Sunday afternoons so working women could attend. Members and visitors welcome!

A self-led group of women of diverse ages and perspectives who gather twice a month for thoughtful and lively discussions of the Bible, theology books, and sermon-related texts. During Lent, and sometimes Advent, the group meets weekly and welcomes new participants.

Meet with other young adults (20 somethings) for dinner and discussion. We like to go to sporting events, nature hikes, and host game nights. Join us for the fun!

Youth in 5th–8th grade take part in fun games, activities, and Bible-based discussions relevant to their lives. Students learn how God has connected with people in Scripture and how we continue to see God at work in our lives today.

Youth in 5th-8th grade gather for fun games, worship, a Bible-based devotional lesson, and small group discussions. Together, we discuss topics such as discovering God at work in the world, growing in faith, friendships, dating, school, family, and more. Youth meet with a consistent small group including peers, teen and adult advisors throughout the year in order to build relationships, authenticity, and trust. YOW regularly includes fellowship-oriented event and service-learning opportunities. YOW returns August 19, 2026.

Youth in 9th-12th grade connect with each other through games, worship, Bible-based devotions, and small group discussions. Together, we discuss a wide range of age-appropriate topics including God’s vision for justice in the world, how to grow in your personal faith journey, and what it looks like to live as a follower of Christ. Youth meet with a consistent small group including peers and adult advisors throughout the year in order to build relationships, authenticity, & trust. Runs from August 19th, 2026 through May, 2027.
