Deacon Ministry at LOPC
Deacons offer care and support in the following ways:
HOME VISITS
Deacons arrange and participate in visits to members who are homebound, hospitalized, or in various types of care facilities.
HOME COMMUNION
Upon request, home communion kits are available to members not able to attend worship services in person.
MEAL DELIVERY
Deacons prepare and deliver food to persons recuperating from illness, those recently discharged from the hospital, new moms, grieving families, or anyone who might need a meal in a time of crisis. Volunteer to cook or deliver a meal.
COMMUNION
Deacons faithfully prepare the elements each month and assist in serving Communion during worship services.
MEMORIAL RECEPTIONS
Deacons staff receptions following memorial services held at LOPC. Volunteer to help set up, serve, clean, or bake cookies.
