Children’s Ministry
At LOPC, we believe that every child is created in the image of God. And we focus on incorporating children into a welcoming and loving community of faith that learns, grows, and serves together. A child’s faith is best served by a partnership between the church and the home, so we want to be a resource of you.

PROGRAMS for ChilDREN and FamiLIES
We want your family to experience the fullness of life in our community, and we have a number of programs to engage, encourage, and equip you along the way. We think of children’s ministry at LOPC as touching on five facets of faith:
- Worship, the call to honor God;
- Formation, growing deeper in how God created us;
- Witness, showing the love of God to the world through our words and actions;
- Care, looking out for the well-being of ourselves and other; and
- Community, coming together regularly as the people of God.
Our programs in Children’s Ministry are designed to incorporate these five marks in creative and intuitive ways, so that children and families are able to see and learn about God at work in our lives today.

Our Children’s Ministry Offerings Include:

Our primary program for children on Sunday mornings is The Garden, our worship experience for children from three months old to 4th grade, which runs concurrently with the worship service in the Sanctuary at 10:00am. The program uses Bible-based curriculum for different ages to help root kids in the soil of faith. The combination of Large Group worship and teaching and Small Groups split by age helps kids apply their faith to what happens at school, at play, and at home. READ MORE

Kids Rock is a 15-week spiritual formation and mission program for kids in Kindergarten – 4th grade. This Wednesday after-school program welcomes kids from our LOPC family as well as kids from the larger community. Together we enjoy one another’s company and explore faith, learning and growth in the Jesus Ways of Kindness, Mercy and Justice. READ MORE

We support and encourage kids with special needs and their families to be a part of our community. LOPC hosts a Respite Night once a quarter with other Lamorinda faith groups. We also train Special Needs Buddies who provide help, including one-on-one care, during our Sunday programs. READ MORE

Music is an essential element in the spiritual formation of children. The Children’s Choirs form and nurture kids through instruction of choral technique and worship leadership. Choirs are free and open to the community.

After school ends in June, kids at Vacation Bible Camp have a chance to learn about God, grow deeper in their faith, and make connections through songs, stories, games, art, and more. Camp is where kids experience the love of Jesus with others in a safe and fun environment. READ MORE
