Job Summary:
The Director will manage and provide vision for LOPC ministries related to children and their families as they grow in faith. The Director will work collaboratively with church leaders and staff to provide training, coordination, planning, resourcing, support, pastoral care and advocacy. He or she will ensure that LOPC has a ministry with children and families that provides for their spiritual needs and equips them to grow in faith together.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Children’s Ministry 60%
- In association with staff and lay leaders, develop and supervise programs to provideChristian formation for children
- Articulate a theological vision for ministry with children consistent with LOPC’svision statement
- Direct curriculum selection and development for all Children’s Ministry programs,working to ensure that all curriculum reflects racial equity and anti-bias values
- Supervise children’s ministry staff and administrative personnel and serve as primarystaff liaison to children’s ministry leadership teams
- Provide leadership for volunteer personnel, participating appropriately in children’sprograms
- Identify opportunities for children to become fully involved in the life of the church
- Prepare annual Children’s Ministry budgets with team chairs for areas undersupervision
- Prepare annual Children’s Ministry team goals
- Prepare annual reviews for Children’s Ministry staff
Seedlings Preschool 5%
- Work with Associate Pastor for Family Ministry to ensure that the church and Seedlings Preschool are consistently partnering to minister to families not otherwise involved at LOPC
- Provide children’s chapel services for Seedlings Preschool classes
- Attend monthly Seedlings Preschool board meetings
Family Ministry 20%
- Work with appropriate leadership to develop programs which assist parents in nurturing their children’s spiritual growth, integrating Christian faith and family life, including resources for the home
- Provide intergenerational encounters for the church family that help fulfill the congregation’s baptismal vows to support the faith journey of children
- With other ministry areas, develop opportunities for fostering community among families in the church
- Work as a staff liaison with the Racial Equity and Engagement Team (REET) to support racial equity and anti-bias values and practices at LOPC
General Responsibilities 15%
- Maintain a supportive relationship with children and their families, providing referrals when special pastoral care is needed
- Participate in the leadership of worship as requested by pastoral staff.
- Keep the Head of Staff briefed on plans, issues, and ministry matters and attend boardmeetings and retreats as requested
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree plus Continuing Education in the field
Experience: Three years leadership experience in church children/family programs Special Skills, Licenses or Certifications: None

Hours: 20 hours/week, Monday-Thursday Date of Job Description: 2023 Salary Range: $22-$25/hr, depending on experience

Job Summary:
This position provides administrative support to the Pastor of Care Ministry and Executive Leadership. This position requires the ability to handle multiple functions, anticipate issues and problems, and deal with assigned and other duties discretely, efficiently, effectively, professionally and tactfully. Maintaining confidentiality and sensitive information with discretion is a must. It is essential that the Administrative Coordinator be able to work with a
variety of people and prioritize work.
Essential Functions of the job:
- Provide administrative support to the Pastor of Care Ministry and Executive Leadership.
This includes, but is not limited to, calendar management support, financial record
keeping support, and meeting/event coordination (scheduling, planning, preparation,
shopping for food and supplies, communications). - As directed, provide support to ministry teams that the Pastor for Care oversees
(Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, and Care/Senior Ministry). This includes assisting
with meeting/event scheduling, planning and preparation, online and in-person
shopping for food and supplies, and meeting/event communications, as needed. - Process data in F1 (meeting attendance, member information, meeting/event
registrations). - Create sign ups and registrations for various meetings and events using F1 or sign-up
genius. - Update website pages with current program information.
- Assist team members (elders, deacons, church members) with the administration of
mailings, volunteer lists, materials, and communications.
Expectations:
- Attend and exhibit leadership within all youth ministry related programming.
- Keep office hours during the week, attend staff and pertinent committee meetings.
- Maintain a personal devotional practice.
- Develop faith-sharing and faith-building relationships with youth and their families.
- Assist as a liturgist in various Sunday morning worship services.
Desired Experience:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: 5 years of experience in office work setting
