COMMUNITY LIFE

Staying connected is more important than ever right now so that is why we have created these group opportunities. Groups that are designed to help you BELONG will prioritize connecting you with people who share similar interests or stage of life. Similarly, groups that are designed to help you GROW will prioritize your individual spiritual growth and development. Lastly, groups to offer CARE and support.

Stephen Ministry Workshop: The Presence of Grief Throughout Life

April 27 @ 8:45 am - 12:00 pm
Oak Room, Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church: 49 Knox Drive Lafayette CA 94549

The Stephen Ministers invite you to join them on Saturday, April 27 in the Oak Room from 8:45 a.m. to noon for a workshop led by Pastor Jane Mackenzie. We'll be focusing on The Presence of Grief Throughout Life. Most often, we think of grief at the death of a loved one, but there are many other types of loss which wrench our emotions. Grief can be ambiguous when prompted by the loss of a job or income, loss of identity, divorce, loss of community, or a newly empty nest. We can also experience anticipatory grief due a cancer diagnosis, a terminal illness, or in caring for a loved one with declining cognitive capabilities. Grief is a normal part of life and a response to having to let go when we don’t want to let go.  It is also an invitation to spiritual renewal and healing.  Join us for a conversation on how we compassionately sit with ambiguous and anticipatory grief in our own lives and the lives of others, and lean into God’s promise of hope and wholeness. Please register by April 24. Register Here
