Many of us had the pleasure of hearing Hidetaka Hirota speak during our faith250 event. We have invited him back to speak on the history of immigration in the US after the second service on November 22. The sermon that day will draw from Matthew 25 in which Jesus teaches us that serving others in need is what love does and, therefore, what God expects of all who claim him. This includes the immigrants among us.

Hidetaka is an associate professor at UC Berkeley and a social and legal historian of the United States specializing in immigration. His research has focused on the history of anti-immigrant sentiment, immigration law and policy, and the origins of immigrant deportation.

A light lunch will be served. Registration is encouraged at lopc.org/registrations for planning purposes.
