Please join the Racial Equity & Engagement team for a showing of Children of the Camps, a one-hour documentary that portrays the poignant stories of six Japanese Americans who were imprisoned as children in the U.S. concentration camps during WWII. The film follows their journeys toward healing in a workshop led by Dr. Satsuki Ina. Question prompts at each table will be discussed after the film. Dr. Satsuki Ina, who initiated the documentary, was interviewed by The Rev. Gerald Chinen, former LOPC pastor, in one of his “Talking Story” episodes.

“This travesty of justice could easily happen to any other group….Educating people about the incarceration of one group will help prevent its happening to other minorities in our American democracy. -the Report of the Commission on Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians.
