2026 Lenten Study Small Groups!
February 18 - April 2
Event Navigation

Join a Lenten Study Small Group! Each year for the season of Lent, we invite the community to participate in a book study that helps prepare our hearts and minds for Easter — the celebration of the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus. This year, we will be reading An Unlikely Lent: Extraordinary People of the Easter Story by Rachel Billups. The book invites readers to encounter Scripture through the lives of unlikely biblical figures, reminding us of God’s irresistible grace. Join us on this adventure of experiencing Lent anew! Click this link for more information and to join a group for discussion and community building.
**Participants need to source their own book. They will not be available for purchase at LOPC.**

Study Glimpse:
The crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus are at the heart of the story of Easter. But the resurrection was not witnessed in isolation; it unfolded before a crowd. What might the stories of those women and men teach us today? How will they help us step into the story of Easter? Here, we can see what has been overlooked, not just in the grand moments but in the in-between: the silence, the side characters, and the questions.
