Children are a vital part of our church family at LOPC. From the earliest ages, our children are invited and welcomed into worship and to be full participants in the life of the church. However your family comes on Sunday, know that we are glad you are here.
Please visit our Check in Table on the plaza in front of the Christian Life Center. The table is located to the left of the Sanctuary. Our Hospitality Team will help you register your child, get a name tag, direct you where to drop kids off, and answer any questions you might have. Here is a look at our current offerings.
Nursery
Our ministry to children starts with the nurture of our youngest members in the Nursery. Childcare for ages 6+ months through 18 months is available on Sunday mornings during 9:00 am and 10:30 am services with limited space on a first come first serve basis as staffing allows. The Nursery can be found in the Christian Life Center first floor.
Preschool room
Preschool Ministry nurtures our youngest children through simple stories, fun songs, and active play. Faith for a preschooler is about safe relationships, and our programs helps them learn they are a beloved member of our community. Preschool Ministry is located on the first floor of the Christian Life Center every Sunday morning at both services.
Bloom & belong – 9:00 am
Elementary aged children will have a time of fellowship, hearing Bible stories, building crafts, and playing games together. There will be a circle time to share successes and challenges of the week and to pray together.
- Kindergarten & 1st grade will be in CLC room 204 (second level)
- 2nd, 3rd, & 4th grade will be in CLC room 205 (second level)
The Garden – 10:30 a.m.
The Garden is our faith formation time for children from PreK to 4th grade, which runs concurrently with the 10:30 worship service. The program uses Sparkhouse curriculum to lead kids through interactive Bible story lessons starting with the Old Testament in the fall, and the New Testament in the winter/spring. Children begin to compare what they learn to their own life, applying their faith to what happens at school, at play, and at home. We send home weekly materials so that you may also have another way to spiritually connect with your child throughout the week.
- PreK and Kindergarten will be in CLC room 202
- 1st and 2nd grade will be in CLC room 204
- 3rd and 4th grade will be in CLC room 205
Children are always welcome in the Sanctuary, so if your child would like to worship with you, know that our congregation loves and welcomes them. The Family Room in the rear of the Sanctuary (left as you enter the first set of doors) has windows into the Sanctuary, speakers, and a restroom so that you and your child can participate in a semi-private setting, if you wish. There are also video feeds of the service in the Welcome Center, the building to the right of the Sanctuary, and in the lobby of the Christian Life Center, to the left of the Sanctuary.
