DESCRIPTION:On January 5 Dr. Joe Whitehouse\, World Traveler and Photographer\, will speak on “Iraq: Cradle of Civilization.” Dr. Whitehouse’s travel presentations are beautifully done and very popular at LOPC. Iraq consists largely of ancient Mesopotamia\, the native land of the Sumerian\, Assyrian\, and Babylonian civilizations. Mesopotamia was the source of a writing system\, mathematics\, timekeeping\, a calendar\, and a law code. He will present beautiful pictures of interesting sites of historical\, cultural\, and religious significance in Iraq\, Kurdistan\, and Lebanon. \nThis program is only available on Zoom. \nRegister Here
